Traditional Adaptive Riding

1. Traditional Adaptive Riding

Basic riding & horsemanship skills are taught throughout the sessions.  Clients require a bit more support.  The lessons are recreational in nature & clients may be assisted by a horse leader and / or side-walks (based on client's needs).

Ages: 4yo & up
Options: Group or Private
Duration: 45 minutes

2. The Complete Horse Course

For the child or adult ready to learn it ALL!  Riders will learn how to catch, tie, groom, tack, ground work (unmounted), and, of course, ride.  First 30 minutes will be unmounted & last 30 minutes in saddle.

Ages: 8yo & up
Options: Semi-Private only (2 clients per lesson)
Duration: 60 minutes

The Complete Horse Course

3. The Pony Club - limited availability

For the child ready to learn it ALL!  Riders are matched with one of the ponies.  Each will learn how to catch, tie, groom, tack, ground work (unmounted), and, of course, ride.  First 30 minutes will be unmounted & last 30 minutes in saddle.

Ages: 4yo to 7yo
Options: Semi-Private only (2 clients per lesson)
Duration: 60 minutes

The Pony Club

4. Reading With Lucy - limited availability

Who: for animal-loving children or teens that want to practice reading out loud in a non-judgmental, caring environment.

What: sit with the ponies or chickens outside their pens & read from a selection of books or bring your own.

When: 2x / month from January to December

Duration: 45 minutes

Please note, this is not a therapy program.

Monthly Membership Per Individual:
$45 due at the first of each month

5. Stable Pals - dates to be determined

Who: Perfect for children & adults who want to spend time with horses, but who may not be emotionally or physically ready to ride.

What: spend time grooming, hand-grazing, taking the horses for a walk & enjoying the presence of the horses.  Learn about horse behavior and the effects of human emotions on horses.

When: 2x / month from January to December

Duration: 90 minutes

Monthly Membership Per Individual:
$65 due at the first of each month

6. Hippotherapy

Currently, Strides is contracted with Kadlec Physical Therapy services to provide hippotherapy as an intervention for clients that treatments in the clinic may not be effective enough.

Possibilities are endless, but may include, learning how to walk, core strengthening, tone management, sensory feedback to improve functional activities, developmental delay, and balance.

7. Veterans & First Responders - H&H

Since 2016, Strides has worked to offer free-of-charge services to local veterans & first responders.  The horse is a mirror to our inside.  Using the horse to help us heal and regulate ourselves is priceless.
